Mission Statement

Westside Allergy is a medical specialty practice dedicated to the care of patients with allergies, asthma, and related conditions. Founded in 1986 by Dr. Scott Valet, Westside Allergy has grown to become one of the Rochester area’s leading allergy and asthma group practices. We appreciate the support and confidence placed in us by patients, their families and referring physicians that have made our success possible. Our offices are conveniently located in Greece, Brockport, and Batavia. We  welcome new patients. Your appointment will be scheduled in a timely manner. You will see one of our board certified allergy physicians at your initial visit and at every follow-up appointment. We will listen to your questions and concerns and address as many as we can, both at the time of your visit and afterward.

If you are coming for patch testing, be sure to bring any items to be tested, if instructed to do so, at your initial visit. You will not have to discontinue any medications (except steroids by mouth, and steroids applied to the patch test site for 2 weeks beforehand. Discuss any change in steroid treatment with us before doing so on your own.) You will need to keep the site where the patches are applied dry and out of the sun for 48 hours after the patches are applied.  Please alter your bath/shower routine so as not to get the patches wet.

We ask that you pay your co-pay or any charge not covered by insurance at the time of your visit. If your insurance has changed, please bring your new card.

Insurance: We accepted almost all forms of medical insurance

Payment options: We don't have online bill pay. We accept Checks and major Credit Cards. Co-pays are expected at the time of visit. Payment plans can be arranged if needed.

For New Patients

We are dedicated to addressing your concerns related to allergies, asthma, sinuses, nasal issues, skin problems, or food allergies. At your first visit, you will have a consultation with one of our board-certified physicians. At this visit, you may have some initial testing done, however, it is likely that you will return for a second visit so the appropriate diagnostic evaluation can be done. Extensive allergy testing will not be done at the first visit.

Depending on the nature of your problem, your doctor will order only the pertinent tests that will aid in diagnosis and make an appropriate personalized treatment plan.

At Westside Allergy, we know that no two patients are alike, so we do not subscribe to a "one size fits all" philosophy. Your doctor will come up with a plan that he or she feels is best for you.

The initial visit is a 40-minute consultation. Please bring your insurance information and a photo ID. Also bring any prescription creams, nose sprays or inhalers that have been prescribed for your allergy/asthma/rash. We have provided the forms you need below. Feel free to fill them out prior to your first visit to save time.

Allergy Injection Patients

We ask all of our allergy injection patients to read this form: “Allergy Injection guidelines”.

No appointments are required for allergy injection patients. Injection hours at our office locations are listed on our home page. We ask that you wait in the office 30 minutes after each injection. If you are currently ill with wheezing or fever, then we ask that you postpone your injection visit until you are feeling better. Notify us if you have started a new beta-blocker medication. If you are having difficulties with your injections, feel they are ineffective, or for any reason, you feel you must discontinue them, then do call us. We do not want to refill your injections if you are not currently receiving them.
